No! The state of Tennessee is a direct access state and allows you to see a Doctor of Physical Therapy without needing a referral. We are highly trained in being able to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal conditions without needing a MD referral. If we see that you need to be referred to someone, we have a vast network of specialized practitioners so we can get you in the right hands.
No, we are considered an “out of network” provider. Visit our Cash Based PT page to learn more. We can provide superbills that you can submit to insurance for reimbursement.
Insurance companies are continuing to cut reimbursement rates for clinics, thus requiring physical therapist to see several patients at once and lower patient care standards in order to keep their businesses running. In order to keep this high volume, patients are most likely passed off to students or techs to assist in treatment. With a cash based model, you will see a Doctor of Physical Therapy for the entire visit where you will get one-on-one care. Insurance does not dictate our treatment planning, so we are able to make it individualized to YOUR goals.
We perform a thorough evaluation including movement assessments, hands on treatment, a home program, and plenty of education so you are fully equipped to start tackling your goals day 1.
Yes. We can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. To find out about your insurance benefits, specifically for out of network providers, follow this guide.

[Power PT is the BEST! Courtney is amazing—so incredibly knowledgable and personable. As an athlete and fitness-junkie, she has now treated me for two different injuries over the last few years—each with great success, and getting me back to gym stronger. I highly recommend her and her PT practice—I wouldn’t go anywhere else!
Courtney is an incredible sports PT. She understands how to help athletes get back to doing what they love, post surgery, post injury or preventative. I’ve sent many running friends and family to her. Great dry needling skills as well.
I will recommend Dr. Courtney to anyone who needs PT! I just finished 10 sessions (over 3 months) for late stage ACL rehab. She is so knowledgeable and treats the whole patient-physical, mental, emotional, is a wonderful encourager, pushes you and gives you a plan to be successful! She uses up to date technology and techniques. I responded well to the dry needling, stem and massage techniques. I was experiencing pain at a 7 on the pain scale daily in my knee (I had been post op for over a year) and after my PT with Courtney, I only feel pain at 1 occasionally when my knee is stiff or tired! I’m so grateful to feel good again thanks to Dr. Courtney!
